the story
Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Little Red Riding Hood who lived in a village on the edge of a dark and dangerous forest. She was a kind and obedient girl, but she was also a bit naive.
One day, Little Red Riding Hood’s mother asked her to take a basket of food to her grandmother, who lived in a small cottage on the other side of the forest. The girl was excited to go, and she set off immediately.
As she was walking through the forest, Little Red Riding Hood met a big, bad wolf. The wolf was very clever, and he pretended to be friendly. He asked Little Red Riding Hood where she was going, and she told him that she was going to visit her grandmother.
The wolf told Little Red Riding Hood that there was a shortcut through the forest, and he even offered to walk with her. Little Red Riding Hood was foolish enough to believe him, and she followed the wolf to the shortcut.
The shortcut led Little Red Riding Hood deep into the forest, and she soon lost her way. The wolf, meanwhile, went straight to Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother’s cottage and knocked on the door. When the grandmother answered, the wolf pretended to be Little Red Riding Hood.
The grandmother was old and frail, and she could not see very well. She allowed the wolf into her home, and he ate her in one bite. Then, he put on the grandmother’s nightgown and lay down in her bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood to arrive.
When the girl finally reached the cottage, she knocked on the door. The wolf answered the door, and he pretended to be the grandmother.
Little Red Riding Hood was surprised to see her grandmother looking so different, but she did not think anything of it and went inside and sat down on the bed next to the wolf.
“Grandma, what big ears you have!” she said.
“The better to hear you with, my dear,” said the wolf.
“Grandma, what big eyes you have!” she said.
“The better to see you with, my dear,” said the wolf.
“Grandma, what big teeth you have!” she said.
“The better to eat you with!” said the wolf.
In that moment, Little Red Riding Hood realized what had happened, and she jumped out of bed and ran out of the cottage as fast as she could.
The wolf chased her, but she was faster than him, and she ran through the forest and back to her village, where she told her parents what had happened.
The villagers went to the cottage and found the wolf asleep in the grandmother’s bed. They filled his stomach with stones, then tied him up and threw him into the river. The wolf drowned, and the girl was saved.
Little Red Riding Hood learned her lesson, and she never went into the forest alone again. She also learned to be more careful about who she trusted, and she knew that not everyone is who they seem to be.
But the story does not end there. A few weeks later, the wolf’s ghost came to the girl in a dream and told her that he was not really dead, and he would come back to get his revenge.
The girl was afraid, but she knew that she had to be brave. She told the ghost that she was not afraid of him, and she would not let him hurt her.
The ghost was angry, but he knew that the girl was right, and he could not hurt her, because she was too strong. So, he left her alone, and he never bothered her again.
Little Red Riding Hood lived happily ever after, and she never forgot the lesson she learned from the wolf. She was always careful about who she trusted, and she never went into the forest alone again.
